About Adelle

Hi! I’m Adelle, a clinical psychologist located in Ulverstone, Tasmania. I enjoy supporting people in a variety of ways, including individual therapy, group programs, online programs and support groups, resources, and mentoring/supervision. I prefer person-centred approaches - it is important to me that you feel safe, heard, and accepted. I opened Nurture Clinical Psychology in 2017 so that people could visit a warm, welcoming environment that feels more like a home than a clinic. While I enjoy supporting people of all ages who are struggling with anxiety, depression, or stress, I have several special interest areas that I am passionate about:

  • I love spending time with children using play-based approaches. I am trained in Child-Centred Play Therapy and have adapted this approach for children with developmental differences, including autism and ADHD.

  • I feel very strongly about the need to support autistic people and ADHD-ers using non-pathologising, neurodiversity-affirming approaches. I have been working with, and learning about neurodiversity from my clients, since becoming a psychologist in 2007. I am experienced in autism and ADHD diagnosis, including assessing girls and women who may have had difficulty getting their characteristics recognised and understood.

  • I really enjoy helping mothers to learn about self-care and self-compassion, as they navigate the challenges (and celebrate the joys) of parenting. I have completed intensive training in perinatal and infant mental health through the Perinatal Training Centre.

  • I am trained in EMDR and love using this modality to help adolescents and adults heal from trauma.
